SOMETIMES.

-7

Sometimes, life is just better when you spend the entire day in pig tail braids and no make up on.
Sometimes, life is just better when you spend hours at the kitchen table, doing work next to your mom.
Sometimes, life is just better when you come into work and utter the words, "I need to leave."
Sometimes, life is just better when you sneak in a little lunch date at Taco Bell.
Sometimes, life is just better when you listen to Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" in the early morning.
Sometimes, life is just better when you stuff your face with watermelon.
Sometimes, life is just better when your puppy is running alongside you around the block.
Sometimes, life is just better when you wake up to a simple and sweet text message from your dad saying, "I put a new air pump for your bike in your bike's basket, INB."
Sometimes, life is just better when your mom is at home.
Sometimes, life is just better when you finally get to start sewing your own clothes.
Sometimes, life is just better when you know you can sleep in the next morning.
Sometimes, life is just better when you get to do your splits on the warm sand at the beach.
Sometimes, life is just better when you use some of your free time to plan and daydream about your own wedding when you're not even engaged yet (woops, that's my confession).
Sometimes, life is just better when you eat pistachio ice cream for breakfast.
Sometimes, life is just better when friends send you random "I miss you" text messages.
Sometimes, life is just better when you don't make any plans.
Sometimes, life is just better when you throw together a t-shirt with a randomly picked skirt from the closet.
Sometimes, life is just better when you have a puppy to cuddle with.
Sometimes, life is just better when you get to sing along to John Mellencamp's "Jack And Diane" with your dad in the car while your mom laughs at the both of you.

And sometimes, life is just better with it's the summertime.
As for tomorrow? I'm going on an early morning hike starting at sunrise.
And sometimes,
Scratch that.
At all times, sunrise hikes are fine by me.

"WE JUST HAVE TO GET PAST THOSE GUYS."

a little video made by the amazing ladyB

One fine day, the ladyB and I went on a little trip to Palm Springs.  It was a dreamy day, to say the least, and everything about it went beyond what I had imagined for the day.  We strolled through many antique stores and thrift stores, where not too many things were found but at least that saved us from placing holes in our pockets.  Though thrifting is always a good idea, it wasn't what made this trip top of the list for me.  It was the first day where I actually felt like summer was here.  We took our time and made our way through the heat, sipping on sweet date shakes and looking and pretty things all around us.  Sweat was definitely a promising presence throughout the day (who am I kidding!? it's Palm Springs), but it felt right and it felt good to me.  It felt like summer, the goodness of summer.  Windows rolled down, arm out the window, sun shining bright, sunglasses on, bathing suits in tow, good music blasting, laughing and dancing.

Truthfully, what more could I ask for!?
Summertime is liberating, and all is gravy in my heart. :)
Actually, gravy wouldn't be good in my heart.
But you get it.

MY LOVES.

Two days ago, I went to a Mumford & Sons concert. You know what that means!? I have now officially been to three Mumford & Sons concerts in less than one year, yup! I'd be hesitant to say that I'm not a fan, because I obviously am... a huge fan, and I really am not ashamed about it. I wouldn't even mind adding in a fourth concert this year if I get the chance.  Thankfully (and to my surprise), Andrew is actually starting to appreciate and enjoy them as well (I actually caught him singing "Below My Feet" to himself today, true story).

Recently, I have also discovered a growing love within me for... sushi.  I've loved it for a long time now, but for some reason it is the one thing that I am constantly craving these days.  Thankfully, Andrew shares that same love for sushi with me.  In the past week, I've had sushi four times (woops! sorry, not sorry).

Mumford & Sons + sushi are two loves of mine.
Scratch that.
Mumford & Sons + sushi + Andrew (all of these in ONE day!?) = a perfect day.
which was the case two days ago, and it was the absolute best time.

Blessings, blessings, blessings.
God is so merciful and gracious to me.
Thank you LORD for all these things and so, so much more.
